Misbah breaks record of most sixes as Test captain

SHARJAH (Web Desk) – Pakistan Test captain who is known as ‘Tuq tuq Misbah’ has left his critics stunned once again after putting another record in his bag on first day of Sharjah Test against England.

Misbah 41, hit two sixes in his innings of 71 on the first day of the third and final game of the three-match Test series to become world’s first Test captain to hit 55 sixes in the history.

Before him, Indian skipper Mahindara Singh Dhoni had this record with 53 sixes in long format of cricket.

West Indian legendary batsman Brian Charles Lara hit 49 sixes, he is third in the row, while Clive Lloyd of the same team is fourth with 48 sixes.

New Zealand’s captain Brandon McCullum is chasing all with 47 sixes in test format, he is fifth in the list so far.

It seems only McCullum can break Misbah’s record as rest of others in the list are not playing cricket or at least in this format, while Misbah himself is mulling to quit international cricket after this series.
