Peshawar Zalmi s foreign players willing to play PSL final in Lahore

DUBAI – Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi confirmed on Thursday that the team’s foreign players were ready to land in Lahore for the final encounter of the Pakistan Super League.

“All five of our foreign players have received Pakistani visas and they will play the final in Lahore when we qualify,” said the franchise owner.

Shahid Afridi also confirmed that the international stars had received their Pakistani visas.

Zalmi will face Karachi Kings today in third playoff and the winner would sail through to final scheduled to take place in Lahore on Sunday.

Willingness of Zalmi’s foreign players to land in provincial capital for the final clash is a major development as the other finalist Quetta Gladiators’ foreign players have refused to play PSL final in Lahore owing to security concerns.

Kevin Pietersen, Tymal Mills and Luke Wright will not be a part of Quetta Gladiators for the final contest.

It may be mentioned here that Eoin Morgan, Chris Jordan, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Marlon Samuels,  Andre Fletcher, Dawid Malan, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal are Zalmi’s foreign players led by captain Darren Sammy.

The Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA) had earlier advised players against travelling to Lahore. However Pakistani cricket fans are eager to see international stars showing their skills in Lahore despite all odds.
