LONDON – Former US president Barack Obama was caught enjoying water-sports along with his billionaire friend Richard Branson on Tuesday.
Obama who left the White House on January 20 after serving the United Staes of America for two consecutive terms enjoyed kitesurfing at a luxury Caribbean island owned by Virgin head Richard Branson.
Recently released video and photos of the Obamas’ holiday with Richard Branson show them laughing, joking around and having some fun in the water.
Obama also joined in a friendly challenge with the Virgin founder learning how to kitesurf before Mr Branson learned to foil board.
‘We agreed to have a final day battle to see who could stay up the longest,’ Branson wrote in a blog post.
‘After all he has done for the world, I couldn’t begrudge him his well-deserved win. Now he has left, I’m going back into the water to practice for the next challenge. On his next visit, we plan to do the long kite over to Anegada together. Next time, may the best (British) man win!’ said Branson’s blog post.
‘Being the former president of America, there was lots of security around, but Barack was able to really relax and get into it,’ the British billionaire wrote.
