Following the ban on Pakistani artists which caused trouble for Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan for appearing in Indian movies, Ali Zafar is the third to be affected by it.
Shahrukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and Ali Zafar were initially the chosen cast for ‘Dear Zindagi’, with Ali Zafar being replaced following the deteriorating relations between the two neighbouring countries.

According to an Indian website, the makers of the film ‘Dear Zindagi’ shared that they did not want the India-Pakistan controversy to become an issue for the film, and therefore decided to replace Ali Zafar with Tahir Raj Bhasin, Bollywood’s rising star.
“Ali Zafar has already been replaced in the film and he has been replaced with Tahir Raj Bhasin, Rani Mukerji’s nemesis from Mardaani’, revealed a source to the Bollywood website.
