SHARJAH (STaff Report) – Afghan opener Mohammad Shehzad on Sunday night smashed quick century, fourth fastest 100 of T20 format, to set a mountainous target of 216 runs for Zimbabwe in second T20 game at Sharjah cricket stadium.
Zimbabwe team could score 134 runs while chasing the target. The whole team returned to pavilion in 19th over.
Afghanistan while bating first scored 215 runs for 6 wickets with Mohammad Shehzad remaining not out at 118 runs off 67 balls.
Chasing the target Masakadza smashed quick 63 runs off 44 balls while Moor hit 35 runs. However none of the other players could stand on the crease for long.
As a result of the 81-runs victory Afghanistan completed white wash against Zimbabwe with 2-0 victory in T20 series.
Earlier Afghanistan won ODI series against Zimbabwe once in Zimbabwe and secondly in UAE. The country is now ranked ninth in T20 ranking and 10th in ODI list of ICC.
