Play like lion not jackal, Ajmal tells the team

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s top off spinner Saeed Ajmal, on Friday, urged Pakistan cricket team to play like a lion rather a jackal, while talking to a private news channel.

Ajmal, on the occasion, also warned former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, also known as Rawalpindi Express, over his comments about Umar Akmal, “Akhtar should be very careful about his words, especially when he is talking to the foreign media”.

If Akmal, who is Pakistan’s batsman cum wicket keeper, stands up against him and raises questions about his career, Akhtar wouldn’t feel good, he added.

The off-spinner also accepted that Shoaib Akhtar is a superstar of Pakistan cricket team and he should always be positive about Pakistan no matter where he is.

He asked the team Captain Misbah ul Haq and Coach Waqar Younis to select the team based on merit without paying heed to external pressure.

Pakistan team got pace after three consecutive victories against Zimbabwe, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and giant South Africa after they were thrashed by India and West Indies in first two matches. The team needs to win against Ireland to qualify for the quarterfinals.
