Top 10 Most Googled People of 2017 in Pakistan
While Google's most-searched topics around the world this year ranged from Hurricane Irma and Bitcoin prices, in Pakistan, as usual, top searches for people mostly included models and celebrities.

Apart from the occasional cricket related name, the list is filled with Pakistani actresses. No political figure made it to the list this year.

Let’s take a look at the most Googled people of 2017:

1. Fabiha Sherazi

The model gained popularity after being sighted on Fawad Mustafa’s show, Jeeto Pakistan. Since then, Pakistanis watched her grace the show with her presence throughout Ramazan transmissions. Who'd have thought she'd top the list!

2. Nadeem Sarwar

Nadeem Sarwar, a religious orator, is known for his Nohay.

3. Fakhar Zaman

The navy sailor-turned-opening batsman, who made his One Day International (ODI) debut in Pakistan vs South Africa, won millions of hearts for his outstanding performance against India in Champions trophy.

4. Rishi Kapoor

The Bollywood actor had quite a year with Pakistanis on Twitter for his racist tweets during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. He’s also a dying wish to visit Pakistan.

5. Rida Isfahani

The TV actor has a few notable projects, including ARY's Jatan, to her credit. But she actually caught the internet’s eye with her leaked videos this year.

6. Faryal Makhdoom

Faryal Makhdoom almost ruled the whole year, on social media, with her break-up and make-up with husband, British Pakistani boxer Amir Khan.

7. Javed Afridi

The CEO of Haier and the owner of the Peshawari Zalmis, who is not related to Shahid Afridi, had quite the year after his franchise won the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

8. Ahad Raza Mir

The Canadian Pakistani Film/TV and stage actor took the whole country by storm with his drama ‘Yakeen Ka Safar’ and his iconic portrayal of the character of Dr Asfandyar Usman Ali Khan, aka Dr Asfi.

9. Hania Amir

It was a good year overall for Hania Amir, starred alongside Fawad Mustafa in Na Maloom Afraad 2, but it was a Snapchat post gone wrong that got her more searches than one would expect.

10. Momina Mustehsan

Momina has been in the spotlight ever since her Coke Studio debut.

Google generates the lists by finding the search terms with a higher traffic as compared to the previous year in order to highlight only the top-searches and interests of this year.

Pakistani rupee exchange rate against US dollar, Euro, Pound and Riyal - 29 Feb 2024

Pakistani rupee remains stable against US dollar in the open market on February 29, 2024 (Thursday).

US Dollar rate in Pakistan

In the open market, the US dollar was being quoted at 279.1 for buying and 282.35 for selling.

Euro currently stands at 303 for buying and 306 for selling while British Pound rate stands at 352 for buying, and 355.5 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED hovers at 76 whereas the Saudi Riyal saw slight increase, with new rates at 74.3.
