FAKE NEWS: Was Hadiqa Kiani caught with cocaine at Heathrow Airport?

LAHORE – Pakistani pop sensation Hadiqa Kiani has strongly denied  media reports that she was arrested at Heathrow Airport in London.

Metro-UK.com, a British news website, quoted local authorities saying that Hadiqa Kiani was arrested for trying to smuggle 2 kilogrammes of cocaine hidden in two bags of coffee inside two suitcases.

The report was run by Daily Times without any confirmation or further investigation.

“Disgusted with media for such FAKE NEWS. I have been in Lahore, today is my nephew’s birthday. SHOCKED,” she said in her tweet.

In a second tweet said, she said that photo was taken today in Lahore with my mother and son.

The baseless reports said that the drugs were hidden in two coffee bags. “Customs and Border Protection police officers searched her suitcases upon suspicion and found a plastic coffee bag containing white powder,” the report said.

Last month, Daily Times had become a source of false rumours in the country that suggested that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not allowed to speak at the World Economic Forum due to his alleged involvement in mega corruption scandals.

However, talking exclusively to Daily Pakistan Global, Yann Zopf, head of media organisation and events clarified that premier was not forbidden to speak at the prestigious World Economic Forum.
