ISLAMABAD – The federal government is set to announce new petrol, and diesel rates for the next fortnight amid a drop in international prices.
People are expecting a consecutive fourth cut today September 15, as the government is set to unveil new prices later today. Sources familiar with development said the price could drop by as much as Rs10-12 per litre.

If the government the expected cut, the new price could be around Rs248-250 per litre, but there are also chances of tweaks to the petroleum levy.
The anticipated price cut is attributed to 7pc decline in international petroleum prices over the past two weeks. Furthermore, diesel prices are expected to be reduced by around Rs11 per litre, reflecting the lower global cost of diesel.
In early September, petrol prices were slashed by Rs1.86, bringing the cost to Rs259.1 per litre, while HSD prices fell by Rs3.32 to Rs262.75 per litre.
