UNITED NATIONS – Prime Minister Imran Khan would be addressing the 74th session of United Nations General Assembly on September 27 this year.
As per the official plan, Pakistan’s prime minister would be heading to New York on a four-day visit on September 23rd; he would be meeting world leaders including Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad on the sidelines of UNGA session.
In his address, Prime Minister Imran Khan would be highlighting the treatment meted out to Kashmiris by the Narendra Modi-led regime especially the revoking of special status granted to the occupied valley.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would be heading to the United States ahead of the arrival of Prime Minister Khan.
UNGA’s address would be the first one by Imran Khana after assuming the office and Pakistan’s prime minister is set to garner spotlight owing to the recent tension between Islamabad and New Delhi.
Imran Khan has asked his party workers to hold protests in New York during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in September.
The premier has decided that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) would organize massive protests in New York to give the Indian Prime Minister a ‘global backlash’ over his government’s decision to abrogate Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the PTI’s central media department, there will be intense protests on the occasion of Modi’s visit to New York to attend a session of the United Nations General Assembly.
