Sharjeel, Sami, Khalid Latif likely to be included in Asia Cup, T20 squad

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Sharjeel Khan, Muhammad Sami and Khalid Latif are likely to be included in the Asia Cup and World Twenty 20 squad.

Sharjeel has scored 287 runs in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) so far with a batting average of 31.88 and a strike rate of 151.05 emphasizing that this type of performance could not be ignored.

Sharjeel scored the very first century of the PSL helping his side Islamabad United to book a place in the final against Quetta Gladiators with a comprehensive 50 run win against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s T20 skipper Shahid Afridi also hinted in his post-match interview that Sharjeel would be rewarded soon for his superb inning.

While pacer Mohammad Sami and Khalid Latif may also be inducted replacing Iftikhar Ahmed and Rumman Raees.

According to reports Sharjeel to replace Babar Azam for Asia Cup and World T20, Sami to replace Raees for the two events and Khalid Latif to replace Iftikhar Ahmed for only World T20.

According to a PCB official “The squad announced for the Asia Cup and World T20 lacks a good opener and therefore there are 100 per cent possibility that opener Sharjeel would make a comeback”.
