CANTERBURY – WRS Gidman took five wickets and restricted Pakistan to 168 runs on the first day of the four days practice match against Kent at Canterbury on Saturday.
The 33-year old finished with figures of 5/47 while HW Podmore and CJ Haggett took two wickets each.
Imam-ul-Haq was the best batsman for the visiting side as he slammed 61 off 111 balls. Hasan Ali also contributed to 24.
In reply, Kent were 5/1 at stumps till filing of the story.
After this match, Pakistan face Northamptonshire before providing the opposition for Ireland’s inaugural Test, in Malahide, from May 11-15.
They then return across the Irish Sea for a two-Test series against England.
