Shane Watson breaks Brendon McCullum s longest T20 innings record

SYDNEY (Staff Report) – Australian batsman Shane Watson Sunday broke the record of New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum by hammering longest T20 innings in the third T20 game against India at Sydney cricket stadium.

Watson, who was playing as captain, smashed 124 runs off 71 balls leaving behind McCullum, who scored 123 off 58 balls in September 2012 against Bangladesh.

In the historic innings, Watson hit 6 sixes and 10 fours and achieved the mark with a strike rate of 174.

Australia set 198 runs target for India in the final match after losing first and second matches to India.
