LONDON (Web Desk) – A UK national has become an internet sensation after revealing his elaborate plan to propose to his pregnant girlfriend through 148 photos over the period of five months.
Lincolnshire resident Ray Smith, 38, took the selfies on the premise that he was documenting the pregnancy of his future wife Claire, RT reported.
What she didn’t notice was that he sneaked the message “Will you marry me?” into every photo.
He usually held up a small card on which the marriage proposal was written, making sure it was visible to the camera while hidden from her view.
“I had no clue, I was totally oblivious to it all,” said Claire. “He told me he was taking the pictures to create memories for the baby so I just let him get on with it.”
Finally on Christmas Day, Ray decided to let his soon-to-be wife in on the game and proposed to her in a more direct, traditional manner.
“It was all a bit chaotic on Christmas Day morning so I took her away and set it all up on the laptop. I got down on one knee and gave her a bit of spiel, and then popped the question,” said Ray.
Luckily for him the outcome was never in doubt.
“I said yes straight away, I didn’t need to think about it. I got a bit emotional but I am pregnant after all,” Claire said.
