Obama orders ‘full review’ of 2016 election process

Washington – President Barack Obama has requested a review of all cyberattacks that took place during the 2016 election cycle, apparently due to allegations of Russian interference.

“The president has directed the intelligence community to conduct a full review of what happened during the 2016 election process,” said Lisa Monaco, Obama’s homeland security advisor.

Monaco said at a breakfast hosted by The Christian Science Monitor that it was vital to “understand what this means, what has happened and to impart some lessons learned,” adding that Obama expected a report before leaving office on January 20.

The US elections sent shock waves around the world on November 8 due to Republican’s Donald Trump’s landslide victory.Obama and many other stalwarts backed Hillary Clinton and her defeat raised the eye brows of officials for fear of any rigging in the electoral process.
