Younis Khan thinking to reconsider retirement decision

LAHORE – Test cricketer Younis Khan has hinted at reconsidering retirement decision if his services were needed by the country.

Younis Khan, who had announced to retire from international cricket two weeks ago after West Indies series, is just 23 runs behind reaching the milestone of 10000 Test runs. He will be the first Pakistani to enter the elite 10000-club.

If Pakistan needs me, I can rethink my retirement decision but in my view, best time to retire is when the people want you to play more, he told a website in an interview.

He said: “I think the right time to retire is when people want you to stay, not when they are thinking your time is up. So I think it is a good time for me retire”.

When asked what if he would like to continue, he said ‘yeah, I will think about it’, ‘It all depends on if my team needs me.

‘If they request me or people want me then why not? But it all depends on my team.’

Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq too wanted Younis to continue. I think he can play for a couple of more years, he has suggested.
