Okay, we admit, Umar Akmal can’t speak English fluently. But the Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman’s writing skills also appear to be dependent entirely on Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V.
One of the most entertaining cricketers, definitely not on-field, Umar recently sent a congratulatory tweet to India’s skipper Virat Kohli and his bride Anushka Sharma, a movie star, after their wedding pictures went viral on the internet.
Congratulations to you both and much happiness on your wedding day. May your love shine warmly forever @imVkohli @AnushkaSharma

There’s certainly nothing wrong in the Pakistani cricketer wishing the couple from across the border as many others – including ex-captain Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, and Mohammad Amir – did too. But, what caught the eye of social media users was Umar’s blatant use of GOOGLE, after he did not even care to EDIT a typical congratulatory line picked up from some random wedding wishes website.
Perhaps Umar Akmal doesn’t bother to think too much when he writes something in English – just like he doesn’t when he’s wearing the gloves.
Soon after the cricketer ‘opened his heart out’ on social media for the newly-wed couple, Twitteratis started trolling Umar for his never-seen-before copy-paste skills.
Moreover, to Umar’s disappointment, he never got a response from Virat or Anushka.
