Pakistan s MMA pride Uloomi Karim given heroes welcome after success against India

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Uloomi Karim was given a rousing welcome as he returned back to the country after overpowering Indian hopeful Yadwinder Singh in the World Series of Fighting Global Championship (WSOF-GC) held in the Phillipines last week.

Talking to newsmen, the winner Karim said that he was confident of his success despite he not being backed by anyone. He dedicated his victory to Kashmiris and said that he had kept abreast of violence in the occupied territory during his travels.

Uloomi Karim had earlier overpowered the fourth consecutive winner of Mixed Martial Arts Yadwinder Singh. Ahmed Mujtaba, another MMA fighter from Pakistan, was also successful at Manila as he beat Philippines’ Neil Laranow.

Ahtesham Karim, Uloomi’s elder brother, who runs the Fight Fortress Club in Islamabad expressed his delight on Uloomi’s success and hoped he would carry on his winning streak .

The 25-year-old Uloomi Karim hails from Gilgit-Baltistan and has been taking part in global MMA competitions for the last five years.
