Dr Uzma writes apology letter to Maryam Nawaz over Lahore protocol allegation

LAHORE – Dr Uzma Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, on Sunday wrote an apology letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz, for mistakenly placing the premier’s daughter at the center of the recent protocol allegation controversy in her account to the media.

According to the contents of the letter, Mrs Khan apologized for wrongly putting the blame of the incident on Maryam Nawaz and explained that Asim Gujjar had misinformed her in this regard.

“Therefore, please accept my apologies that I took the word of Mr Gujjar as the truth in my extreme state of trauma,” she said in the letter.

Earlier, Dr. Uzma had made headlines after her vehicle’s movement on Mall Road had been blocked by the motorcade of a VVIP. She also alleged that security personnel within the motorcade had mistreated her and crashed their car into her’s to intimidate her.

However, afterwards, it was revealed that the protocol belonged to Azad Kashmir President Sardar Yaqub actually, who was visiting Asim Gujjar in Lahore.
