Three children burnt alive in Lahore fire incident

LAHORE – Three children were burnt alive while one person received burn injuries when a fire broke out in a room at the second floor of a house situated at Boy Scout Stop Walton on Friday.

The children were playing in the room when fire erupted in it. As a result, five-year-old Habeeba daughter of Irfan and two-year-old Ali son of Faryad died on the spot while two-year-old girl Nabeeha, daughter of Faryad, fell unconscious due to smoke and Imran received burn injuries.

On information, vehicles of fire rescue reached the spot and controlled the fire after hectic efforts. The volunteers shifted the fire victims to Lahore General Hospital where Nabeeha breathed her last.

Cause behind the fire was stated to be short-circuiting, a spokesman of Rescue 1122 said.

Further investigation was underway.
