DONGGUAN – Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has announced NEX smartphone with impressive 91.24% screen-to-body ratio.
The smartphone features an FHD+ 6.59-inch Super AMOLED display, resolution of 2316 x 1080 pixels and 19.3:9 aspect ratio.
More importantly, the display incorporates the cool in-display finger print sensor.
The Vivo NEX features a periscope-like camera with an 8MP sensor and f/2.0 aperture.
The back sports a 12MP f/1.8 sensor paired with a 5MP f/2.4 unit.
The cameras on the back also benefit from the AI-capabilities of the device with scene recognition, HDR, filters and photo composition.
The earpiece has also been removed from its usual spot and has been replaced with a vibrating screen. The company claims that the Screen SoundCasting Technology should deliver better-sounding bass and softer treble.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of Internal storage.
The SoC is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery and comes with 22.5W charger out of the box.
Funtouch OS 4.0 runs on top of the Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with a bunch of AI enhancements.

The Vivo NEX is currently available in China with a starting price of 3,898 RMB (~$600) and will be available in other international markets in the coming months.
