I write this as an official apology to cockroaches for comparing them to certain people who were the subject of my article.
Immediately after writing the article, I started receiving threats and abuse from, surprisingly, Pakistani liberals.
While the article attempted to unveil the hypocrisy and bigotry of religious fanatics, it also brought people’s attention to an overlooked fanatic and extremist section of the society – Pakistani “Liberals” or the regressive left.
The article met with an extreme reaction of outrage and enmity from people who were featured in it, less from the notorious Mullahs and more from the self-proclaimed most peaceful, tolerant and broad-minded liberals. Threats began pouring in, Facebook walls overflowed with the out-of-context excerpts from the article and exaggerated “Fatwas” of ‘misogyny’ and ‘religious bigotry’ were issued by keyboard ‘Jihadists’.
Quite evidently, the purpose of writing such an article was achieved, its unusual content had an immense impact on the comfort zones of the extremist section that has been camouflaging as the oppressed and pacifying its conscience with the delusion of being the “righteous ones.” It betrayed their ugly reality.
So much so that the creatures that I erroneously compared to innocent, apolitical cockroaches, resorted to borrow the rhetoric and weapons from their opposite extreme and played the ‘Ahmadi and Gay card’ against me.
This guy is a self-proclaimed liberal and when I exposed his hateful rhetoric against Junaid Jamshed immediately after his death which this guy publicly posted on his Facebook profile, he started threatening me and got many of his friends to harass me online. Not only did he accuse me of being an Ahmadi and gay, he threatened that he would spread this information online and willfully put my life in danger.
Not only that, he made his friends send vile messages to me and tried to pressure me into removing the article altogether.
The more they resorted to extreme and exaggerated hyperbolic statements, the more the article’s message was confirmed and got credence. It is confirmed now that the section that masquerades as the most tolerant and erudite community, has exactly the same inclination to typical fanaticism and bigotry.
Liberals who themselves have claimed to be the advocates of Ahmadi and Gay rights played the religion card to harass me and coerce me to take down the piece that outed them as prejudiced haters and bigots.
These pseudo-liberal SJWs are as much a cancer to our society as the far right extremists and must be exposed as such.
Editor’s note: Our writer has been receiving harassment, abuse and dangerous threats not from mullahs but from the liberals of Pakistan. The initial article which exposed the hatred and blind partisanship of our society by showing the disgusting PUBLICLY POSTED messages on social media after JJ’s death was assigned to our writer by our editorial board which stands behind the material published. The hateful messages, due to their public distribution were meant to be consumed by public at large and we, as a news organization, are within our rights to post and comment on them in our articles and require no special permission to do so.
If any rich, entitled, liberal brat has misunderstood the laws of the country despite expensive education and thinks he can threaten journalists with impunity, we will ensure they understand that their actions and speech have real consequences. We stand firmly behind our writer and any further harassment to our writer will result in legal proceedings by us.
