Ijaz Ahmed to lead Pak veteran cricket team in Veterans World Cup

LAHORE – Pakistan Veterans cricket Team will be participating in the inaugural Veterans one day World Cup to be played from November 21 to December 5 in Australia.

Eight countries including Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Canada, and Wales are participating in this mega 50 overs a side Cup, said a spokesman of Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association while talking to APP here on Thursday.

“Each Team will play 7 matches on a single league basis with top four teams playing the semi-finals and the winners to play final on December 5 “, he said.

He said Pak team was finalized at a video meeting of the Board of Directors of Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association.

Former Test player Ejaz Ahmed with 38 Tests and 32 ODIs is named the Captain and former ODI Player Ghulam Ali as Vice Captain. Team also includes two former ODI players Sajid Ali and Shahid Anwar.
