Ch Nisar, PML-N to face each other in general elections

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday has formally decided to field his candidates against former party leader Ch Nisar.

According to media reports, Engineer Qamarul Islam and Sardar Mumtaz of Shehbaz Sharif-led PML-N will contest against dissident Nisar for the seats of the lower house of parliament.

PML-N’s bigwigs issued tickets to Islam for NA-59 whereas Mumtaz has been granted tickets for NA-63. Nisar has announced to contest elections from the same aforementioned constituencies.

PML-N leader and former federal minister Pervez Rashid—who was sacked over Dawn Leaks issue—took a jibe at Nisar while stating that latter’s anxiety was displaying many things. Rashid added that only time will tell who the real winner is.

Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan went a bit hard on former premier Nawaz Sharif, expressing that he was not eligible to lead Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz in the 90s.

Addressing a gathering at Chakri on Sunday, Nisar said when the PML-N was established it had only 15 or 20 members, declaring that Nawaz was made the party leader as there was no other choice.

“For 34 years I carried the burden of Nawaz Sharif and did not owe him anything,” said Nisar.
