Another minor girl dies of wrong injection in Karachi

KARACHI – Another minor girl has died in Karachi due to wrong injection, according to reports in local media.

The four-year-old girl was suffering from measles when her parents brought her to a private clinic in Bilal Colony area of Korangi.

The father of the girl alleged that his daughter died due to wrong injection.

The doctor allegedly administered a wrong subutex injection to the girl, resulting in her death.

The police have arrested the doctor who administered the injection.

Police said that Dr Imran had been treating patients in his clinic for two years.

The girl’s dead body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital late at night for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, 9-month old minor girl Nishwa passed away on Monday after administration of wrong injection.

Nishwa suffered brain damage after allegedly being administered an excessive quantity of an injection at a hospital Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the city on April 14.

Nishwa became paralysed due to wrong injection at Dar-ul-Sehat hospital. The overdose of potassium chloride had affected her brain severely, leaving her nearly brain-dead.

Nishwa was shifted to Liaquat National Hospital, another private hospital in Karachi, for treatment where she breathed her last on Monday.
