Islamabad cop mysteriously goes on shooting spree at his landlord s house in Banigala; kills four

ISLAMABAD (News Desk) – An Islamabad Police constable killed as many as four people at his landlord’s house in Banigala on Thursday, before taking his own life.

According to the Express Tribune, two women – Irum Iqbal (35) and Hajra Bibi (65)- and a four-year-old child were among those killed.

The constable, who was identified as Muhammad Mehmood, used his official gun to carry out the murders.

Police officials said that a local plumber, identified as Muhammad Arshad was also present at the family’s home and was also shot dead by the policeman.

Sub-Inspector Muhammad Shafiq, who is probing the multiple murder case, said that police was still unable to determine the reason behind the killings.

Police have recorded statements of Irum Iqbal’s husband Zahid Hussain, and handed over the dead bodies to their families. The postmortem report for the deceased is due on Friday.

Zahid Hussain reportedly works in the UAE and the incident took place in his absence on Wednesday night. The police officer was reportedly renting accommodation owned by Hussain in Bhara Kahu, an area on the outskirts of Islamabad.
