Sindh govt orders to register all foreigners, place 93 seminaries on watch list

KARACHI – Sindh government has decided to register all the immigrants living legally or illegally in Karachi city.

This decision was adopted at a meeting presided by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister said that the law and order situation in the province in general and in the Karachi, in particular, is satisfactory because the law enforcement agencies have done a commendable job.

It was pointed out that the illegal immigrants living in Karachi and on its outskirt and even in the slump areas were either harboring terrorists or supporting them.

Therefore, it was decided to register them through a thorough survey to be conducted by law enforcement agencies teams comprising district administration, Rangers, police and intelligence agencies.

The meeting was informed that around 93 religious seminaries have direct links with terrorists or banned outfits.  The intelligence agencies had gathered credible information about the activities taking place there.

A data would be developed of each and every immigrant whether he or she lives in the city or anywhere in the province legally or illegally.

The meeting strongly condemned the Quetta terrorist attack and offered prayers for the people martyred in the incident.
