Khawaja Saad Rafique falls asleep in RO s room while waiting for NA-131 result

LAHORE – Khawaja Saad Rafique, the former Railways minister, fell asleep in the room of returning officer deployed for NA-131 on Thursday.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader was waiting for the result from where he contested against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan.

Rafique kept hopping between different polling stations and the office of returning officer, however, he lost against the PTI supremo as per the results announced unofficially.

Imran Khan got 84,313 votes while Khawaja Saad obtained 83,633 in the closely-contested elections.

The firebrand PML-N leader also fired a tweet in the wee hours of Thursday, wondering why there was a delay in the announcement of results.

NA-131 consists of some posh localities of the metropolitan city including Defense Housing Authority and cantonment localities whereas areas including RA Bazaar, Nishat Colony, Cavalry, Walton, Kamahan, Bedian, Airport, Bhatta Chowk and Chungi Amar Sandhu also falls in the constituency while some six seats of Provincial Assembly also fall in NA-131.
