SUKKUR – A man allegedly killed his daughter for honour in Industrial Estate area police limits on Sunday morning, police said.
Qurban Lakhan, his son Javeed Lakhan shot dead Ambreen Sumeera Lakhan,18,for marrying without her family’s consent. The suspects fled the scene after committing the crime.
Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Sukkur. Police have registered a case and started an investigation. No arrests were made till filing of this report.
A neighbour said the deceased had married Abid Lakhan and was staying at her parents’ house after having the petty issues with her husband.
Hundreds of women are murdered by their relatives each year on the pretext of defending what is seen as family honour.
