MQM’s Asif Hasnain joins Mustafa Kamal s PSP

KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA, Asif Hasnain joined Mustafa Kamal-led Pak Sarzameen Party here on Sunday.

Hasnain, who is a member of National Assembly – won his seat from NA-255 Karachi in the 2013 general elections. He was arrested by rangers after Altaf’s anti-Pakistan speech on August 22 at Karachi airport when he about to board a flight.

Mustafa Kamal welcomed Asif Hasnain and said that Asif had rejected the mandate of MQM’s Altaf Hussain to join hands with PSP, he said this while addressing a press conference at the PSP Secretariat.

Kamal further said that the match between Farooq Sattar and party chief Altaf Hussain was fixed. He stated that he would not let this confusion persist.

He accused Altaf Hussain of getting the MQM senior leaders Azeem Ahmed Tariq and Dr Imran Farooq killed.

On this occasion, Asif Hasnain said, “from today, I will have no connection with the MQM. I resign from my seat as well. “I have left MQM’s mandate because I want to work for Pakistan not against it.”

He urged the other members of MQM to purge their fear and join the ranks of Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party.

In response to a question, Asif said that he was not fleeing from Pakistan but had decided to go to Islamabad since he had fallen sick after not getting sleep for two days and three nights.

The MQM chief had on Wednesday formally handed over the party to its Rabita Committee.
