How many votes Zaeem Hussain Qadri bagged in Elections 2018? The numbers will leave you in splits

LAHORE – Results from the election at NA-133 show Zaeem Hussain Qadri’s political career is over – at least for now.

The former provincial spokesperson for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who ran as an independent candidate for the Lahore-12 constituency, failed to make a mark in Wednesday’s polls as he came last in the list of total 11 contenders. The holder of Jeep (electoral symbol) could bag only 50 votes.

PML-N’s Rana Mubashir Iqbal stood victorious by securing 76,291 votes while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar came second with 45,991 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results. Muhammad Irfan Shahkey from Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) grabbed 9901 votes.

Total number of registered voters in NA-134 Lahore 12 constituency was 270,783 with female voters 114,921.

Other participants from this constituency were Muhammad Sohail Afzal Awan from Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians(PPPP), 5425 votes; Aneela Batool from Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), 1454 votes; Syed Faqir Hussain Shah Bukhari from All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), 720 votes; Zulfiqar Ali Hassan from Allah Akbar Tehreek (AAT), 675 votes; Rana Khalid Mehmood (Independent), 460 votes; Aneel Ashiq Mutu (NP), 381 votes; and Shazia Mubashir (Independent), 249 votes.

Less than a month before the general elections, Zaeem Qadri had quit the former ruling party after lashing out at ex-CM Shehbaz Sharif and his son, Hamza Shehbaz, for not valuing his decade-long services.

On June 21, the former provincial minister alleged that only “servants of Hamza Shehbaz were being allotted tickets”. The angry Qadri said: “I will not polish your shoes…Lahore is not your or Shehbaz Sharif’s property.”

He even dared Hamza to come with his team of “servants” and contest elections against him.

Qadri had also announced that his wife had decided to withdraw her nomination from the list of priority candidate for reserve seats given from the party to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
