LAHORE – The second edition of Zalmi Madrassa cricket will be played from December 4 at Bolan cricket stadium Quetta.
Peshawar Zalmi, in collaboration with the Zalmi Foundation, initiated the ZML in KPK back in August and the league gained popularity and this was the first time when the students of madrassas were given proper opportunity to showcase their talent on a main stage, said Javed Afridi, Chairman, Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday.
He said that the love and support from everyone around have enabled him to take this league to Balochistan and will soon take it to all parts of Pakistan and hoped that it will be a huge success in Balochistan as well.
He further added that the madrassa students will get a chance to come into the mainstream arena and that is the main objective.
“We will take this league further to Punjab, Sindh, and Gilgit very soon”, he added.
Javed Afridi said, “We are taking the mission of the Prime Minister, forward as well as he has also urged institutions to help create opportunities for the madrassa students so that this may portray a positive image of Pakistan on a global level. We are really happy to see all the support we have garnered throughout this time and our spirit is really high for this second edition”, he added.
He appreciated the efforts and support from the Government of Balochistan in facilitating this league, especially Commander Southern General Asim Saleem Bajwa. He informed that altogether ten teams will be in action during the three-day league.
