No corrupt officer to be tolerated in NAB: Chairman

ISLAMABAD – Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has categorically made it clear to all NAB officers that no corrupt officials would be tolerated in the institution.

In order to make the NAB performance effective and transparent, Chairman NAB has transferred DG NAB Rawalpindi and appointed him as DG Awareness & Prevention. He was facing allegations of corruption while instead of extending the contract of DG Human Resources Shakeel Ahmed, he has been ordered to report to Establishment Division.

Both the said officers were facing allegations of misuse of powers and minting money through misusing their authority. In the open court, arranged by Chairman NAB, office-bearers of Commerce Cooperative Housing Society had leveled allegation of grabbing plot on both officers. Following reports of complaints lodged against both officers in the open court, Chairman NAB had issued directives to launch an inquiry against both officers.

Moreover, an application was also given by the complainant Rana Shahid in Karachi Company police station against the said officers for hurling threats while accused exerting pressure on police officers forced to put the complaints in the cold storage while the complainant contacts the court under clause A22 for help.

Chairman NAB has also started reshuffling at a massive level while Irfan Mangi, member JIT probed Panama case against Sharif family has been appointed as Director General Rawalpindi Headquarter. Besides this, Mirza Irfan Baig DG NAB Balochistan and Farmanullah as DG Khyber Pakhtoonkha, have been appointed. Farooq Nasir Awan DG Training and Nasir Iqbal appointed DG Awareness and Prevention.-Online
