CJP Nisar inspects health facilities in Thar alongside CM Sindh

KARACHI – Chief Justice Saqib Nisar arrived in Tharparkar on Wednesday for a day-long visit to inspect health facilities and situation of water in the area.

The top judge was accompanied by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah as he came out of a chopper to hop into a luxury SUV to inspect the drought-hit area.

The top judge was flanked by Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Ijazul Hasan, Chief Justice Sindh High Court Ahmed Ali Sheikh and the Registrar Supreme Court registry Arbab Shehzad.

The Chief Justice arrived at the Civil Hospital in Mithi and reviewed health facilities.

Moreover, the judicial biggies visited Misri Shah RO plant where the chief justice was given a briefing regarding the capacity of the plant’ it was informed that the said plant was Asia’s biggest and is run on solar energy.

Justice Nisar also took some water from the plant to check its quality; he also visited Mithi Civil Hospital, Thar coal power plant and Islamkot District Hospital.

In a brief interaction with media, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah asserted that he had not hijacked the top judge’s visit to the area.

“I’m going wherever the chief justice wants me to,” he said, adding that he was asked to come along.

Security has been tightened in Mithi owing to Justice Nisar’s visit.

The top judge had remarked on December 7th that he would visit Thar to personally monitor the situation.

“Newborn children are dying in Thar and there are also issues pertaining to the supply and distribution of water over there. I don’t want to tour only the good areas but also ones where poverty and issues are prevalent,” the top judge had remarked.
