ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, on Friday, said the Pakistan cricket team can win the ongoing cricket world cup 2015 if they manage to beat Australia in the quarterfinals.
The former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, who lifted the world cup for Pakistan in 1992, said the team has best chance to defeat Australia at Adelaide stadium. “It’s a slow pitch that will benefit Pakistan in the match against Australia”.
He wished the Pakistan team qualifies for the quarterfinals. Misbah-ul-Haq should include Yasir Shah in the game against Ireland, he advised.
“A spinner will be helpful on the Adelaide wicket,” the cricketer turned politician said, adding that fast bowler Mohammad Irfan should concentrate on getting wickets rather than on not giving runs.
Talking about wicket keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former legend said “he is a talented player who should’ve been given a chance earlier”.
Pakistan will face Ireland on March 15 ahead of quarterfinals to qualify for the round, where the team is expected to encounter with Australia.
