SHEIKHUPURA: A gang of extortionists once again threatened and demanded money from the former Medical Superintendent (MS) of the District Headquarters Hospital in Sheikhpura.
According to reports, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Bandesha, currently serving as a cardiologist in Hafizabad, had been receiving threatening calls from extortionists. However, yesterday, the situation was turned on its head, when unknown attackers fired shots outside his home.
Ahmed informed police about the incident, who arrived at his house. The police team, led by District Police Officer Sheikhupura Sarfaraz Khan Virk, however, was only able to stand around idly while Dr. Farooq received another phone call from extortionists.
During the call, they insinuated that the next attack would be directly on the doctor’s person.
Police say they have formed two separate teams to probe the incident.
