LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) Tuesday restrained the Government of Punjab from issuing funds directly to the members of provincial assembly (MPAs).
According to Express News, the LHC has heard an application against the Punjab government for not releasing funds to MPAs of opposition.
After hearing arguments, the court directed the government not to issue funds to ministers directly. The court further directed that funds should be issued in the names of development projects instead of ministers.
The applicant took the stance that the government was discriminating against opposition parties, as funds were issued only to MPAs of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
