PM Nawaz condemns Quetta blast, says terrorists deserve no mercy

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the bombing on Quetta’s Gulistan Road on Friday that left 11 dead and over a dozen injured.

A statement issued by the PM House said terrorists were targeting innocent citizens in the holy month of Ramazan and such a cowardly attack was the reflection of the terrorists’ evil nature.

Nawaz Sharif said such elements deserved no mercy and would meet their fate soon in view of the unflinching and united resolve of the entire nation against terrorism and extremism.

The premier said the whole nation was united against terrorism and those involved in such brutal acts will be brought to justice. He ordered the provincial government to ensure proper medical treatment to those injured in the attack and prayed for the departed souls.

The Prime Minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the blast and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and grant of courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.

The prime minister condemning the attack had reiterated that these cowardly attacks could not weaken his government’s resolve against terrorism and extremism.

“Peace in the province has been ensured after countless sacrifices of our valiant security personnel. We will not allow the enemy to hinder the unprecedented progress and development underway in Balochistan,”  PM Nawaz said.

At least 12 people, including five police officials, were reportedly killed and 14 others injured after a car bomb went off near the office of Inspector General of Police at Shuhda Chowk in Quetta.

The blast occurred around 8:45 am in an area, which is considered a high alert zone due to the offices of high police officials
