LAHORE/HYDERABAD – The Bohra Community, a group of Hyderabadi Muslims has announced it will be celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Tuesday.
According to details, the largest Bohri congregation on Eid was held in Tahiri mosque in Karachi.
The Bohra community celebrates Eid according to the Fatimid Lunar Calendar.
Karachi houses the largest number of Bohra Muslims followed by Hyderabad. Lahore houses the sixth largest population of Bohra Muslims.
Although Members of the Bohra community remain confined to a designated compound for Eid festivities in Lahore and other parts of the country, they did not report feeling insecure due to the ongoing security situation.
A local resident and member of Bohra community said that they had not alerted authorities regarding any threats to their security. He maintained that there were security issues, but extra security would also attract attention.
