KABUL (Staff Report) – Pakistan and Afghanistan on Tuesday agreed to follow the policy of non-interference and not allowing their territories to be used against each other.
The development prevailed in a meeting where delegations led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Ashraf Ghani discussed the bilateral ties to enhance the cooperation at Pak-Afghan border which remains disturbed over the decades.
Pakistan delegation vowed to support the Afghanistan government led peace and reconciliation process. Afghan leadership was assured of every possible effort by Pakistan in this regard.
Both countries accorded that Afghanistan’s enemy will be treated as Pakistan’s enemy and Pakistan’s enemy will be treated as Afghanistan’s enemy.
Pakistan army chief General Raheel Sharif also directed the Frontier Works Organization to start construction of Torkham- Jalalabad Dual Carriage Way project. The long suspended project will be resumed within a week, he said.
