ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has called an urgent meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Turkey next week.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced this in a press conference on Sunday.
The meeting will be held on March 22 in Istanbul, Qureshi said, adding that the meeting will form a strategy to counter the growing Islamophobia in the world.
The foreign minister informed that six of the Pakistanis martyred in the Christchurch attack will be buried in New Zealand while three dead bodies will be brought to Pakistan for burial.
Expressing grief over the attack, the foreign minister said that Pakistan’s national flag will remain hanging down on Monday.

During afternoon prayers on Friday, a gunman opened fire inside the Masjid al Noor mosque in central Christchurch, killing 41. Another seven were killed at a second mosque five kilometres away in suburban Linwood, three of them outside the building.
At least nine Pakistanis are confirmed to have been killed in the terror attack in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal confirmed that Zeeshan Raza, his father Ghulam Hussain and mother Karam Bibi are confirmed to have been martyred in the terrorist attack in New Zealand.

He said that a total of nine Pakistanis embraced martyrdom in the attack.
Earlier, Foreign Office spokesperson gave a list of the six persons who have been announced dead by New Zealand authorities.
They were identified as Sohail Shahid, Syed Jahandad Ali, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Mahboob Haroon, Naeem Rashid and his son Talha Naeem.
