Karachi bus conductor kills passenger, throws body on road

KARACHI – Police in Sindh have arrested two men, a bus driver and his helper, in connection with a passenger’s murder near Bahadurabad Chowrangi in Karachi.

Following a heated argument between the passenger and the bus conductor over fare, a fist fight broke out after which the latter attacked the former with a sharp-edged object. Police said the driver and conductor then threw the body of the victim, in his 30s, outside an Edhi Centre near Ghani Chowrangi and escaped.

The victim succumbed to his wounds because of profuse bleeding, the police added.

Later, the police managed to arrest the bus conductor, identified as Umer Naeem, and the bus driver, Arif Nawaz. A case has been registered against both of them. Further investigation was in process.

The body of the victim, who is yet to be identified, was shifted the body to the Civil Hospital.
