PSL7: Karachi Kings secure first victory, beating Lahore Qalandars by 22 runs

LAHORE – Karachi Kings successfully defended the lowest total in this year's Pakistan Super League in front of a packed stadium in Lahore, beating Lahore Qalandars by 22 runs.

Mir Hamza shone with a 4-wicket haul for only 27 runs, smashing into Qalandars' batting lineup.

Earlier, Kings set a target of 149 runs for Qalandars in the 26th match of seventh season of PSL at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Babar Azam remained the top scorer with 39 runs while other Kings' players could not show impressive performance in the game.

Earlier, Kings won the toss and elected to bat first.

Qalandars are comfortably placed second in the points table with five wins from seven games. On the contrary, the Babar Azam-led Karachi Kings lost eight games on the trot.

Apart from a surprise defeat against Quetta Gladiators, Qalandars have been very impressive and clinical in their recent games.

The Lahore wicket has seen many high-scoring thrillers in the second leg of the tournament and the batters have made the most of the surface. The fast bowlers have also made their presence felt but, the same cannot be said for the spinners who have found it very difficult to leave the batters bamboozled.
