KARACHI – Defence Minister Khuram Dastgir sent a summary of four names to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for appointment of new chief of naval staff.
According to the summary report, the names of Vice Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi, Vice Admiral Syed Arif Ullah Hussaini, Vice Amiral Sohail Masood and and Vice Admiral Waseem Akram are under consideration.
On the recommendation of PM Abbasi , President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain will given approval of new naval chief.
It is vital to mention here that the outgoing naval chief, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah is retiring on October 8.
