LAHORE (Web Desk) – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has formed a committee to thrash out a plan for the arrangement of emergency medical care at universities in the province.
The decision was taken on Friday after a report was submitted by the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team regarding the demise of University of Management and Technology (UMT) student Moeen Manzoor, who died on campus from a heart attack on June 13.
The report stated that there was no arrangement at the university for the provision of emergency medical care.
The Punjab Higher Education Commission chairman was made in charge of the emergency response committee. Other members would be vice chancellors of public and private universities.
The chief minister also directed the health secretary to provide his recommendations on the matter.
