ISLAMABAD – Former director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General (r) Ahmad Shuja Pasha is likely to be appointed the new National Accountability (NAB) chairman.
This was hinted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Dr Aamir Liaquat in a tweet on Monday.

Citing sources, he said that former ISI DG Shuja Pasha is expected to be made the new NAB chairman.
Liaquat’s tweet comes days after the incumbent chief of top anti-corruption watchdog, Justice (r) Javed Iqbal was scandalised following the leak of his audio and videos with a woman.

The government has accused the opposition, especially Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), for using such tactics against the NAB chairman to defame him in order to escape from the accountability process.
On the other hand, the PML-N has called for the formation of a parliamentary committee to probe the NAB chairman issue.
