ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the British government for providing a legal basis to extradite former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability, Shahzad Akbar tweeted on Monday that he held meetings with UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid and Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific Mark Field during his stay in London over the past week.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader is residing in London on medical grounds.
Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau is pursuing cases against the former minister; he had been declared absconder by an accountability court in 2017.
The former finance minister contends that the references filed against him are politically motivated and are not rooted in truth.
