LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Lahore high Court on Thursday allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold its protest rally in Raiwind scheduled for Friday.
The court delivered it verdict on a set of petitions challenging PTI’s Raiwind March aimed at compelling the government for investigations into Panama leaks.
In its ruling, the three member bench allowed PTI to hold its public meeting, directing provincial government to keep an eye on law and order situation.
“The government should maintain security to avert any untoward incident and keep an eye on law and order situation” the court said in the ruling.
It further stated that the government should not arrest or harass peaceful political workers. The court observed that it’s state’s responsibility to protect rights of the people.
The court also urged PTI to honour its commitment with the local administration regarding holding of a peaceful rally.
After the verdict, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is all set to show muscles at Adda Plot near Raiwind, just five kilometers from Sharif Family residence.
