Waqar Younis includes Mohammad Amir, Virat Kohli in his ‘modern day’ ODI dream team

ISLAMABAD – Legendary pacer Waqar Younis has named Pakistani fast bowling sensation Mohammad Amir and Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli in his ‘Modern Day’ ODI Dream Team.

Waqar took social networking website ‘Twitter’ to reveal his special team.

The iconic Pakistan bowler has been a great admirer of Kohli’s batting and so it wasn’t really a surprise to see Kohli in his team. After all, many have even tipped the Delhi batsman to break Sachin Tendulkar’s records in one-day cricket.

Amir, of course, has shown he has lost none of his abilities despite being out of the game for a long time.

The former Pakistan captain included three Australian players: David Warner, Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc – in his team.

Smith is Waqar’s choice as the captain of his dream team. He also picked three Englishmen Moeen Ali, wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and all-rounder Ben Stokes.

Rohit Sharma is the other Indian player in the team. South African batting genius Ab de Villiers is the only South African in Waqar’s XI while talented 20-year-old Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has made it to Waqar’s special squad.

Waqar has picked the dangerous New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill as his 12th man.
