ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Information and Technology and son-in-law of PM Nawaz, retired Capt Mohammad Safdar has said that media took special interest in Panama leaks ignoring positive stories.
Chairing a meeting about mobile phone service providing companies, Safdar expressed that the Ministry of Information Technology was efficiently doing it’s job but the media hardly highlights them.
He said he would have to contribute to the discussion if his name included in the Panama leaks.
During the proceedings, when the chief executive officer Universal Service Fund (USF), Faisal Sattar, started briefing the meeting Mr Safdar said the USF sounds strange just like the name of an offshore company, Dawn News reported.
Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rahman indicated that in all the welfare work such as the establishment of computer labs, less-developed areas were given priority, instead of Lahore.
To this, the PML-N lawmaker responded that people of Lahore had already got the metro project so what else they could expect.
Anusha Rehman told the participants that a senator was creating hurdles in the installation of mobile phone towers in Balochistan as the service provider refused to install the tower on his land.
